Archment paper – an indispensable kitchen essential in any seasoned baker’s arsenal. But, what exactly is parchment paper made of, is it safe, and what all can it be used for? I’m a Food Scientist and I’m going to spill all of the details.

What is Parchment Paper and What’s it Made of?

Parchment is a super-thin baking paper made from a vegetable fibre called cellulose with a handy non-stick surface. This special coating is smooth and slippery.

Any food that’s baked, roasted or cooked in a dish lined with parchment lifts easily out of the dish, without the stubborn mess or left behind, stuck-on bits.

Healthy Unbleached Paper

Made from 100% natural wood pulp, food-grade and healthy. Paper is completely non-toxic, fluorescent free and chlorine free. You can directly place food on paper. The weight of per square meter for each paper is 38-40gsm, stronger than some other papers that you can lift the paper to hold all food on.

Non-Stick & Heat-Resistant

The paper has food-grade silicone oil on the surface to avoid sticky dough or baked foods sticking on the paper before and after baking or steaming, which also makes the paper waterproof and greaseproof. Baking paper is able to be used in ovens and steamers directly based on its heat resistantce up to 480℉.

Pre-Cut, No Cutting Required

500 pcs ( customized quantity）paper in 1 pack, each PCS is ready-cut for quick using. Easier to apply than rolled ones that no measures, trims or cuts needed, just fan a single sheet out and done making baking easy, convenient and time-saving.

FIT PANS

The size of 12" x 16" is the most commonly used for baking pan. It is suitable to fit into most standard ovenware. Just pull out 1 PCS paper to be on the pan, and it will lie flat without rolling up on the edges and fit the pan perfetly.

I'm glad I found this. I didn't know that there was a temp rating on parchment paper. I just recently got into making sourdough bread and other baked goods and having a higher temp rated parchment paper really helps with the baking.
